Global Collaboration
A Journey of Leadership and Artistry on the Asian Stage
In the vibrant world of youth theatre, few names shine as brightly as Rocky Khan. His journey began in 2018 when he stepped onto an international stage as Bangladesh’s first representative at the Asian Youth Theatre Festival (AYTF), held in the cultural hub of Singapore. As a Youth Ambassador, Rocky not only carried the pride of his nation but also brought a fresh wave of creativity, passion, and performance that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

His commitment and charisma didn’t go unnoticed. Just a year later, in 2019, Rocky Khan was promoted to Chief Liaison Officer of AYTF—a role that placed him at the heart of international collaboration and coordination. That same year, he took on the spotlight once again, this time not just as a performer, but as the Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the festival. With confidence, warmth, and eloquence, he hosted the programme, connecting artists, audiences, and communities across Asia.
Beyond his leadership and stage presence, Rocky contributed as a committee member of the festival, actively shaping its vision and execution. His work helped expand the reach and inclusivity of the platform, opening doors for more young artists from diverse backgrounds.
Rocky’s influence extended beyond Singapore. He also conducted an acting workshop in Malaysia as part of the festival’s regional initiatives—sharing his knowledge and inspiring the next generation of theatre enthusiasts through hands-on training and mentorship.
From being a national representative to becoming a leader and mentor in the Asian theatre community, Rocky Khan’s journey is a powerful testament to what passion, dedication, and vision can achieve. He continues to be a beacon for young artists in Bangladesh and beyond, proving that the stage is not just a place for performance—but a platform for change, unity, and inspiration.

Theatrical Spirit Shines Online During the Pandemic
While the world grappled with isolation and uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rocky Khan remained a guiding light in the theatre world—proving that the stage is not confined to a physical space. With unwavering passion, he continued to tell stories, connect cultures, and uplift spirits, all through the power of digital performance.
One of his standout contributions during this period was his performance in the international collaborative theatre production “Hold On,” a moving play written by Wisly S. The production brought together artists from Brunei, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, and Bangladesh, where Rocky proudly represented his nation. Performed entirely online, Hold On explored the shared emotional experiences of the pandemic, resonating deeply with global audiences and showcasing the resilience of theatre in challenging times.
But Rocky’s artistic contribution didn’t stop there.
In 2021, during the continued wave of pandemic restrictions, Rocky Khan stepped into the role of director for a special musical theatre piece titled “Surer Taane” as part of that year’s Asian Youth Theatre Festival. The piece, which beautifully combined music and drama, reflected the cultural richness of Bangladesh and was showcased virtually in Cambodia, adding a vibrant voice from South Asia to the festival’s diverse lineup.
Through acting, directing, and international collaboration, Rocky Khan demonstrated how creativity can thrive even in crisis. His work during the pandemic not only kept the spirit of theatre alive—it brought people together across borders, proving once again that storytelling knows no limits.
